Schenectady man arrested on drug, weapons charges

Saratoga Springs Police have arrested a Schenectady man on drug and weapons charges.

Officers saw two people enter the vestibule of the Woodlawn Avenue parking garage and start smoking an illegal substance, they said.

Derek Labutta, 43, was stopped by officers. He was arrested and also allegedly possessed a loaded firearm.

Labutta was charged with a list of weapons possession related charges – both felonies and misdemeanors.

He was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court and detained pending a future court date.
