Justin Brown received some unexpected cards around Christmas from a classroom of students.

The cards came after his friend – a teacher – learned Brown was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Life expectancy is 11 to 17 months.

Brown – who is a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard – was touched by the personal messages in the cards, he said.

He wanted to thank the students in person.
