Billy Joel, 74, ending Madison Square Garden residency in 2024

Billy Joel, 74, has announced he will be ending his residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden next year.
Joel said Thursday that after more than 150 sold-out career shows at The Garden, he will play his last show in July 2024.
Between now and then, Joel and his band will put on just 10 more performances at the iconic venue before calling it quits.
He first performed there in 1978 after his classic album, “The Stranger,” was released.
He began his residency in January 2014. Now almost 10 years later, Joel, 74, has sold more than 1.6 million tickets there.
