It plans to introduce Yondr Pouches to secure students’ phones and smartwatches.

The pouches are locked and unlocked by staff at the beginning of the school day. Phones never leave the possession of the student.

Any parent who needs to reach their child during the day can call the school.

Phones in every classroom can dial 911 in an emergency, the district said.

This is part of an effort to limit distractions in the classrooms, and get students talking to each other, the district said.
