The Montgomery C. Smith in Elementary School in Hudson held a water balloon fight between fifth graders, teachers and local police.

It happened at the track and baseball field behind the school.

The students were not told about the water balloon fight in advance. They were just told to bring their school pool attire.

It served as a great sendoff before the students head off to junior high next year.

The event was organized by Columbia County Sheriff Donald Krapf.
