Hudson Valley Community College is set to host the 10th annual Girls In STEM conference on March 23 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The goal of this conference is to get young women in grades 4 through 8 excited about a potential career in science and technology.

Programs like this look to close the gender gap in this field.

Just 28% of workers in STEM are women, according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The event will feature a keynote speaker and several hands-on workshops for students. It’s happening Saturday morning, March 23 from 8:30 to 11:30.
