Indiana woman celebrates 68 years of teaching

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Bev Beck really loves teaching. The Indiana teacher is starting her 68th year in the classroom – over 80 if you count the years she was in school.

Beck is a reading specialist at Marshall Traditional School.

She has taught generations of children. Now she even teaches kids that have grandparents who she taught!

Ms. Beck says she could’ve retired years ago. She recently got a taste of the sedentary lifestyle when she sustained an injury and couldn’t come to work. She couldn’t wait to return, and says she has no plans to retire anytime soon.
