The La Salle institute of Troy is getting a new president.

Dr. Kevin Calacone will lead the school starting July 1.

Calacone has been a principal in the Schoharie Central School District for nine years. He helped implement a $19.5 million renovation there.

Calacone spent 11 years at La Salle Institute before that in several roles including the dean of academics and department chair.

He graduated from the school back in 1999.

He said he is excited to return to a place he has called home.
