Diane Zazzaro, 51, of Stillwater, is a wife and mother of three – Lauren, Anthony and Johnny. She is also locked in a fierce cancer battle.

Zazzaro has inspired an entire community – in awe of the grace and courage she’s shown in this battle.

Family and friends inspired by her attitude have rallied around her. Though the cancer has gotten much worse lately, her resolve is as strong as ever. She told friends in the past week that she was going to the Mother-Lovin’ 5K at Saratoga Spa State Park, no matter what. The run benefits Kelly’s Angels, an organization started by NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland in honor of his wife, Kelly, who died of cancer in 2007.

Zazzaro was there Sunday morning, flanked by her loving family and friends.

They pushed her in a wheelchair on the course, and they were near the back of the pack when the first runners were crossing the finish line.

The very first runner to cross that finish line was her 15-year-old son, Anthony.

See the proud moment and hear Anthony talk about what was motivating him by watching the video of Mark Mulhollands story.
