Rep. Paul Tonko is welcoming several local students into the ranks of technological innovators.

The congressman stopped by Shaker High School to recognize three students as winners of this year’s 20th Congressional District App Challenge.

Ayush Patel, Michael Tong and Kush Malwatkar created an app called iBuck, which helps users gain financial literacy and make sound investment choices.

Staff, teachers and family members were in on the surprise to help celebrate the achievement.
