Students at South Glens Falls High School were recognized in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko honored the students for their work during the South High Marathon Dance.
Students dance for more than 24 hours and raise money for dozens of charities.
This year’s dance raised $746,887.25.
“I saw firsthand the enthusiasm and compassion that keep this tradition alive united by music, dance and a spirit of giving,” said Tonko on the House floor. “These leaders of today and tomorrow demonstrate the power that lies in a commitment to community and a desire to do good, tremendous good to the students of South Glens Falls.”
More than $11 million has been raised since the dance began in 1978.
