On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse crossed a large section of the United States, including part of New York state. Cities such as Buffalo, Rochester and Plattsburgh will reach totality, where the moon blocked out the sun’s light completely.

The Albany area and immediate Capital Region didn’t see full totality. However, it was extremely close and still put on a spectacular show.
