Albany County executive honors pair of war veterans

GUILDERLAND – Veterans Day is November 11. Albany County Executive Dan McCoy recognized two people Thursday who served our country.
Hartley "Willie" Williams, 87, and Penny Lee Deere, 65, were honored in a ceremony at Crossgates Mall.
Williams enlisted in the Air Force, and served in the Korean War.
Deere served in the Army during the Gulf War. She has also founded several programs to help veterans after service.
Since 2013, McCoy has honored more than 40 veterans.
