The Ballston Spa Central School District cancelled classes at the high school Thursday. They said it was due to a significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases among students.

A message on the school district’s website reads: “Due to a significant increase in positive cases of COVID-19, quarantines, and exclusions among the High School student population, the Ballston Spa High School will be on emergency closure on Thursday, December 23, 2021.”

Thursday was supposed to be the last day of school before the holiday break.

The school district says they anticipate reopening on Jan. 3. They ask families to continue to report any positive cases to COVIDReport@bscsd.org. They say they will issue and update on their status next week.
