A home that caught fire on Hackett Boulevard in Albany on Thursday has now been torn down.
The director of the Department of Buildings and Regulatory Compliance tells NewsChannel 13 the intensity of the fire combined with the water it took to put the fire out made the home too unstable to restore.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the homeowner, Gladys Davis, lost a house to a fire. She says her 5-year-old grandson was killed in a fire.
Davis says she’s thankful no one was hurt this time, but the family now must find a new place to live.
