Delgado to officially be sworn-in as lieutenant governor on Wednesday

United States Congressman Antonio Delgado will officially be sworn-in as New York state’s lieutenant governor on Wednesday.
Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office made the announcement on Monday.
Delgado currently represents New York State’s 19th Congressional District, which represents parts of Columbia, Greene and Schoharie counties.
Delgado grew up in Schenectady. He was a basketball star at Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady. He was a standout player at Colgate University. He was a Rhodes Scholar who studied at Queens College in Oxford, and he’s a Harvard Law School graduate.
Delgado replaces previous Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin, who resigned after getting caught up in a scandal.
A special election is expected in the next few months to fill Delgado’s congressional seat.
