Minimum wage rising in Upstate NY for 2023

Minimum wage is going up in Upstate New York at the end of this month, and some businesses are cheering it on.
The minimum wage for workers outside New York City is $13.20 an hour. Effective at the end of the year, it goes up to $14.20 an hour.
The minimum wage for fast food workers across New York state is a little higher at $15 an hour.
In Massachusetts, minimum wage increases to $15 an hour beginning January 1.
In Vermont, they have a cost-of-living adjustment, which raises the wage to $13.18 an hour.
Business For a Fair Minimum Wage, a network of business owners who believe a fair wage makes good business sense, is calling for a federal minimum wage of $15 an hour. It’s currently $7.25 an hour and hasn’t increased since 2009.
