New Scotland murder suspect pleads not guilty

The man accused of killing a physician assistant in New Scotland last month was arraigned on a murder charge Monday.

NewsChannel 13 had the only camera in the courtroom as Jacob Klein spoke to the judge.

Klein, 40, was shackled and wearing a yellow jail jumpsuit as he was led into Albany County Court.

He appeared before Judge William Little and pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge.

He told the court that he lives in Virginia, and is self-employed.

Klein is accused of killing 35-year-old Philip Rabadi, a physician assistant, at Rabadi’s home in New Scotland April 13.

Klein used to date Rabadi’s wife, Elana Radin.

Judge Little spoke to Klein about the order of protection for Rabadi’s widow, ordering Klein not to have any contact with her while the case is pending.

Klein is now back in jail and due in court next month.
