Alleged home intruder dies after fight in Berkshire County

A man has died in Berkshire County after a fight.

The fight happened at 57 Spring St. last Thursday. It started when the homeowner, Thomas Granger, 73, came home to find Mark Bednarz, 56, trying to break in, investigators said.

Police arrived and took Bednarz to Berkshire Medical Center, where he later died.

Adams Police and Massachusetts State Police are now investigating.

An autopsy is planned.
