People in Albany County may notice some new reusable bags, and they were designed by a 3rd grader.
County Executive Dan McCoy unveiled the winning design Wednesday morning after he held a countywide contest to encourage the public to reduce reliance on disposable paper bags.
The artist is Kylie McGuiness.
The event was held at her school, A.W. Becker Elementary in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District.
The contest was open to students in grades 3 to 5.
The school celebrated the win with a pizza party.
