Tractor pull in Montgomery County
The Montgomery County Farm Bureau is hosting an out of field tractor pull this Sunday, May 7. Visitors can witness the power of the equipment, while also checking out some tractors. There will be a tractor show for younger visitors. Gates open at 11 a.m., the pulling starts at noon.
Ballston Spa First Friday
Ballston Spa is celebrating First Friday. The event was underway Friday evening, May 5, in downtown Ballston Spa. The theme is student artwork in the community. Art pieces from elementary, middle and high school were on display at businesses throughout the village. It was set to go until 7 p.m.
Albany First Friday
Albany was reviving its First Friday with a kickoff event. The event featured artwork from artists in downtown Albany. The theme was the power of paper. Creative agency Overit and online magazine “Nippertown” hosted it together. It took place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 5.
Marvel Studios writer handing out free comic books in Albany
When a Marvel Studios writer heard that Albany Public Library had to cancel Free Comic Book Day this year due to an ordering issue – he jumped in. Writer Ryan Little reached out and said he will visit the library on Washington Avenue and bring hundreds of free comic books with him, including some of his own. Little has written for marvel’s “I Am Groot” and “What If…” series. You can also bring some of your own comic books for a comic book exchange.
