Juror dismissed before opening arguments at Schoharie limo trial

One juror was dismissed Monday morning, just moments before opening arguments at the Schoharie limousine trial.

Juror No. 8 was dismissed for personal reasons and replaced by an alternate juror.

Opening arguments are beginning after a weeklong effort to select 12 jurors and four alternates.

Nauman Hussain is facing 20 counts of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. He’s the operator of the limo company involved in the crash which killed 20 people in 2018.

Hussain’s defense attorney, Lee Kindlon, says he is expecting more than 100 witnesses to be called during this trial, which has been estimated to last six weeks.

NewsChannel 13 will have team coverage of the trial all day. Watch for updates on WNYT.com and our later newscasts.
