A group of DEC rangers is back home today, after spending two weeks fighting wildfires in Canada.
Seven other forest rangers came back to New York on Sunday.
That group spent 14 days in Quebec, battling several different fires.
Ranger Art Perryman from Warren County was among them. He was fighting fires in Nova Scotia.
He served as crew boss for a team that worked on salvaging more than 5,800 acres of wild land.
Before he returned to the United States, he said the work was difficult, but he was alongside a great group of firefighters.
Hear him discuss what the experience was like by watching the video.
