Driver identified in Sunday’s Maple Avenue rail bridge strike
Police have released the name of the driver that struck the Maple Avenue railroad bridge in Glenville on Sunday.
Timothy Boardwell, 35, of Garden City, Idaho, was driving his 2019 International truck north when he struck the bridge. The entire roof of the box truck was torn off, according to a news release.
Boardwell said he was delivering packages when his GPS directed him onto Maple Avenue. He was cited for failure obey a traffic device and the Glenville Town Code violation for disobeying the height warning.
Maple Avenue was closed for two hours during the investigation and cleanup.
No injuries were reported.
