Johnstown man gets over 5 years in prison for leading narcotics ring

A Fulton County man has been sentenced to over 5 years in federal prison for running a narcotics distribution conspiracy in the Capital Region.

Dion Underwood, 46, of Johnstown, had previously admitted in U.S. District Court that between January and December 2021, he supervised members of a conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin in the Capital Region, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Underwood also agreed to forfeit $39,403 seized by federal agents as the proceeds from the operation.

In addition to the 63-sentence handed out on Thursday, he also must serve 4 years of post-release supervision.
