Timeline: Search for missing 9-year-old

A frantic search began Saturday evening for a 9-year-old from Corinth who went missing while camping at Moreau Lake State Park with her family. Now she’s been found safe. Here’s a timeline of what happened.
Saturday, Sept. 30
6:15 p.m.
Charlotte Sena goes for a bike ride around Loop A at the Moreau Lake State Park.
6:45 p.m.
Charlotte’s parents, Trisha and David Sena, report her missing when she doesn’t return from the bike ride.
7 p.m.
State Police arrive at Moreau Lake State Park.
Sunday, Oct. 1
9:36 a.m.
An Amber Alert is activated saying Charlotte was abducted and in serious danger. New York State Police PIO, Trooper Stephanie O’Neil confirms Charlotte’s bike was found to WNYT after other local news outlets report it.
1:30 p.m.
Governor Hochul holds a press conference with members of law enforcement saying, “We are leaving no stone, no branch, no table, no cabin unturned, untouched, unexamined in our search to find Charlotte.”
Monday, Oct. 2
8:57 a.m.
The Corinth Central School District sends an email to media outlets saying the district has mobilized its crisis team to help the school community during this difficult time. “Our hearts to out to the Sena family,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Stratton.
2:20 p.m.
Trooper O’Neil tells WNYT that no press conference is planned as crews continue to focus on finding Charlotte.
4 p.m.
Another update from State Police says there are approximately 400 certified search and rescue personnel active searching for Charlotte.
“This remains a continuous 24-hour operation and all received tips and information are being followed up on. The people in this community are strong, and we support one another. We are asking our community to come together today to help Charlotte and her family,” State Police said.
6:45 p.m.
News is announced that Charlotte has been found alive and is safe.
10:30 p.m.
Gov. Kathy Hochul holds a press conference, to discuss the details of how Charlotte Sena was found and thanking law enforcement.
