Averill Park considering tax exemption for EMS workers

The Averill Park School District is considering a partial school property tax exemption for qualified volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers in the district.

The exemption is aimed at helping communities attract and retain volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers.

The number of years of service required and percentage of the tax exemption will also be discussed at a public hearing on Monday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 in the LGI room at Averill Park High School.
