Saratoga County man accused of choking person, smashing car window

A Saratoga County man is accused of choking another person and damaging a car.

Matthew R. Piombino, 32, of Providence, smashed out the rear window of a 2016 Dodge Durango belonging to another person and applied pressure to the victim’s neck to cut off circulation and breathing, police said.

The incident took place on Nov. 4 just before midnight at a residence on Southline Road in Providence.

Piombino was charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal mischief and a misdemeanor of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. He was arraigned in Edinburg Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
