Two Maryland residents accused of drug possession in Saratoga County
Two Maryland residents are facing drug charges in Saratoga County.
Russell C. Hedger, 57, of Salisbury, and Dominique J. Barnes, 27, of Princess Anne, were arrested on Nov. 3 after police said they possessed drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of crack cocaine with the intent to sell.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and the county’s Special Operations Team assisted with the arrest following a surveillance detail in the town of Wilton.
Barnes and Hedger were found possessing narcotics after traveling from Maryland following a previous encounter with law enforcement, police said.
Hedger had an active felony warrant prior to the arrest for drug sales from a previous incident.
Hedger and Barnes were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Barnes and Hedger were arraigned in Malta Town Court. Hedger was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility. Barnes was released on her own recognizance pending further action.
