Minimum wage to rise again for all in NY state
The minimum wage will go up in New York state on Jan. 1.
Workers in the Capital Region and everywhere outside of New York City must get $15 an hour. The city and the immediate surrounding area such as Westchester and Long Island will go to $16 an hour.
The minimum wage will go up by 50 cents an hour in 2025 and 2026. Starting in 2027, it will increase based on Northeast inflation data from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers.
