The soon-to-be-built Capital Region Aquatic Center at ViaPort Rotterdam is teaming up with Foothills Scuba to offer instruction and certification courses for those interested in exploring the world below the surface.

The 80,000-square-foot center will take up former retail space in the mall. It’s expected to have four pools, deck space for 600 athletes and seats for 1,200 spectators.

Construction will begin on the center last next year.
