Amsterdam Police arrested Clifton Smith, 51, of Amsterdam, on Friday for allegedly selling illegal narcotics.

Police said Smith was the target of a search warrant that detectives executed on Friday.

Amsterdam Police said Smith sold controlled substances to police sources.

During an investigation of an apartment on Guy Park Avenue, detectives discovered narcotics packaging and related paraphernalia, said Amsterdam Police.

Smith was found and taken into custody at the Amsterdam Police Department and processed with a charge of one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (class B felony).
