Police: Pair stole over $2,500 from Target, possessed drugs
Two people are accused of stealing from Amsterdam Target – twice. The value of the stolen goods was around $2,500.
Craig Stevenson, 46, of Bronx and Raheem M. Duncan, 30, of Menands, stole over $1,400 worth of electronic and home good items from the Target in Amsterdam on Sunday, police said.
The suspects left before investigators arrived.
Investigators stopped a vehicle traveling on Market Street in the city of Amsterdam. The stolen items were inside, they said, including drugs such as crack cocaine, Oxycodone pills, Xanax, Ecstasy, and psilocybin mushrooms, plus an electronic stun gun, police said.
Stevenson also had a device used to stop in store security devices, said police, and Duncan was found with a quantity of money.
Stevenson and Duncan were wanted in connection with a previous theft of $1,169.88 worth of electronic merchandise the prior week.
Both men were charged with four felony counts and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
They were arraigned in Palatine Town Court.
Duncan was released on his own recognizance and Stevenson was sent without bail to Montgomery County Jail.
