McLaughlin officially launches bid for Albany mayor
Albany County Legislator Carolyn McLaughlin officially kicked off her campaign for mayor Thursday morning.
“For the past 25 years I have devoted my life to working for my hometown and I believe it’s that work, working together with people in the city of Albany and throughout the Capital Region has brought me here today,” she said.
If elected, she would become the first Black mayor to lead the city.
Common Council president Corey Ellis and Albany Chief City Auditor Dorcey Applyrs have also declared their candidacies.
