Funding sought for film about the Battles of Saratoga
A film producer is looking for investors to help make a film about the Battles of Saratoga.
Known as the turning point of the revolution, these local battles played a major role in America’s history.
Mark O’Rourke, producer of “Saratoga: The Turning Point,” is the visionary behind this veteran-owned, independent feature film project.
“The victory at Saratoga, and people should know there were two battles over a three-week period. It has been covered in documentaries over the years, but it’s given short shrift, and the vision is to make this into a timeless, enduring motion picture masterpiece that rivals cinematic masterpieces such as ‘Dances with Wolves,’ ‘Glory,’ ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Last of the Mohicans,’” he said.
O’Rourke is currently seeking potential investors, and the public can chip in.
“We’re trying to democratize the project to not only the nations veterans – the 16.5 million strong – but fellow citizens, fellow patriots,” he said.
The goal is for the movie to premiere just in time for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in 2026.
