UAlbany students’ weather balloons to collect data during eclipse
Dozens of weather balloons will float high up in the atmosphere on Monday as a total solar eclipse moves over the United States. This includes balloons launched by a half-dozen students at the University at Albany.
The group is among 53 teams from 75 institutions selected to participate in the 2023-2024 balloon launch project sponsored by NASA and the National Science Foundation.
The team will collect data leading up to, during and after the eclipse.
Learn more about how the students will be analyzing this information by watching the video of First Warning Meteorologist Reid Kisselback’s story.
