Glens Falls man faces new charges in shooting

A Glens Falls man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a January shooting. Paris J. Pettiford, 38, is accused of shooting a man on Jan. 24 just after 6 p.m. in the area of North Pearl Street and Lawrence Street. The victim was transported to Glens Falls Hospital and later to Albany medical Center for treatment.

Paris J. Pettiford, 38, is accused of shooting a man on Jan. 24 just after 6 p.m. in the area of North Pearl Street and Lawrence Street.

The victim was transported to Glens Falls Hospital and later to Albany Medical Center.

Pettiford was interviewed and initially charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

After further investigation, police identified Pettiford as the shooter. A Warren County grand jury indicted him on charges of attempted murder, two counts of assault, and a misdemeanor drug possession charges in addition to the earlier charges.

Bail was set at $200,000 cash or $600,000 bond and he was sent to Warren County Jail.

New York State Police and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
