A Latham woman is expected to receive 15 years in prison for taking explicit pictures of a child and sending them over a four-year period.

Kristy Koldis, 46, admitted in U.S. District Court that she took pictures of the victim from when they were 9 to when they were 13.

Koldis was working as a school guidance counselor. She began her career at Albany High School in 2003 and started at Myers Middle School in 2018.

Koldis then distributed those pictures to her boyfriend Joshua White, who pleaded guilty in December to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, according to prosecutors. White was involved in local youth sports.

The pictures were not related to her work at the school.

Koldis was placed on administrative leave at the time of her July 2023 arrest.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on July 23.
