A Hudson man was sentenced to up to 4 years in prison for an incident in which he broke into a home and drank the resident’s liquor.
Michael K. West, 32, escaped from police custody by jumping from a window during a Cleverack Town Court appearance. He then broke into an unoccupied home on Stone Mill Road and rummaged through the homeowners’ closets and liquor supply. He left behind an empty bottles of vodka and tequila, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
West originally as in court to answer assault charges for a domestic incident in Hudson in July 2023.
