Police: Bennington County man struck acquaintance, threatened cops

A Bennington County man is accused of hitting an acquaintance and threatening police.
Vermont State Police responded to a residence on Dutch Haven Drive in Pownal at around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a domestic incident. Tyler M. Wilford allegedly assaulted a person and destroyed their property.
Wilford, 30, then made threats of bodily harm against troopers while being taken into custody, investigators said.
He was charged aggravated domestic assault, criminal mischief and criminal threatening. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon. He was sent to Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.
