Albany man arrested in connection with stabbing

Albany Police have made an arrest in connection with a December stabbing.

Lamont Martin, 51, is accused of stabbing a man multiple times in the leg on Dec. 11 at around 9:30 p.m. at a residence on the 100 block of Dove Street, police said. The victim was treated at Albany Medical Center.

Police found Martin at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday at a residence on Dove Street. Officers found a loaded .380-caliber handgun and crack cocaine, police said.

Martin is facing assault, weapons and drug charges.

Also arrested at the scene was 46-year-old Latika Smith of Albany. She faces drug and weapons charges. She also was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
