It’s been nearly six weeks since the president of Hudson Valley Community College was placed on paid administrative leave.

And the HVCC Faculty Association said there has been very little communication since then.

13Investigates was the first to report that a sexual harassment claim was made against college President Roger Ramsammy.

It continues to be investigated by a third party.

The faculty association says they respect the details of the investigation must remain confidential, but said they are being left in the dark.

The chairwoman of the board of trustees had said last month that “they would know something soon.”

HVCC Faculty Association President Robert Whitaker said he would like the college’s board of trustees to provide an update on the status of the investigation and a timeline for when they expect it to conclude.

“There’s a lot of rumors floating around the campus and a lot of speculation and just a lot of uncertainty,” he said.

Whitaker said the union is looking to write a letter to the HVCC Board of Trustees to express their concerns.

He added that they are not asking the school to breach sensitive information, but just provide an update.

“We have been hearing from a lot of folks who are asking us, ‘what’s going on? What are we hearing? Where do things stand?’ he said “And we have to tell them what we just told you: unfortunately, there’s been no further information. There’s been no updates from the college. For that reason, I think it would really help in a lot of ways if the college, as our employer, would update us on the status of the investigation.”

Whitaker said union contract negotiations are on hold during the investigation.

The HVCC board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday.
