Albany traffic stop leads to drug, gun charges
An Albany man is facing weapon and drug charges after a traffic stop.
Police stopped Jaquan Mott, 27, in the area of Central Avenue and Quail Street just before 7:30 p.m. for a traffic violation. Mott had a 9 mm semiautomatic firearm, which he did not have a legal right to possess, the Albany County Sheriff's Office said.
Mott also allegedly was driving while impaired by drugs.

Police stopped Jaquan Mott, 27, in the area of Central Avenue and Quail Street just before 7:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators found a 9mm semiautomatic firearm that Mott was banned from having, they said.
Mott was also allegedly driving while impaired by drugs.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, driving while ability impaired by drugs and traffic violations.
Mott was transported to Albany County Jail pending arraignment on Tuesday.
