Man, 57, dies in hot rod crash
A 57-year-old Newburgh man was killed Sunday while drag racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway.
The crash happened during a sanctioned race at around 12:30 p.m. William E. Janke lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and struck a barrier, State Police said. Janke was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The National Hot Rod Association Northeast Division said it is sending its thoughts and prayers to the Janke family and the racing community.
