Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 72-year-old from Mechanicville on DWI and other related charges
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edward J. Young, 72, of Mechanicville on Thursday and charged with DWI, as well as other felonies.
Young is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and at a time when his blood-alcohol-count (BAC) was 0.08% or greater, said the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say he was charged with the following:
- DWI (class D felony)
- Operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or greater (class D felony)
- First-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (revoked driver’s license)
- Operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device (class A misdemeanor)
- Failure to keep right (infraction)
The Sheriff’s Office says the charges were upgraded to class D felonies due to two prior convictions within the last ten years.
Young was processed and released on appearance tickets in Malta Town Court pending further action.
