Microburst with 95 mile per hour winds confirmed in Bennington County

Winds of up to 95 miles per hour hit Bennington County on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says it wasn’t a tornado, it was a microburst – intense downward winds in a thunderstorm that can create damage near the surface.

The microburst was at Route 30 and North Rupert, Vermont, at the Old Gray Barn.

Several trees were snapped and uprooted.
