Schenectady man accused of stealing items from store in Amsterdam.

A Schenectady man is accused of stealing merchandise from Amsterdam businesses, totaling at least thousands of dollars.

Todd J. Podrazik, 47, was stopped I-890 in Rotterdam around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation. Podrazik allegedly lied about his identity. He also did not have a valid driver’s license and no registration or insurance, State Police said.

Inside the car, were several items with price tags attached, plus a glass smoking device with drug residue, police said. Podrazik allegedly stole items from several business earlier in the day, said police. One business was able to confront him before he left, investigators said.

Podrazik was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of petit larceny and traffic violations. He was transported to Schenectady County Jail pending arraignment.
