Victims from Troy shooting remain in critical and stable condition, police continue investigation

Troy Police are continuing to investigate the shooting that happened early Saturday morning on Franklin Street in between 2nd and 4th Streets, leaving two people critically injured.

The critically-injured victims are a 19-year-old female and a 17-year-old male.

They tell us that Patrol Officers and Troy Fire Department provided lifesaving measures to both victims on the scene, followed by being transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Troy Police interviewed both victims at the hospital, while also scanning the area for additional witnesses to the crime and reviewing video surveillance from the area.

Police say preliminarily, the victims were with each other in the Franklin Street alleyway when they came in contact with the suspect.

Authorities say it is believed that words were exchanged and the interaction escalated, resulting in the shooting.

Troy Police say the investigation remains ongoing as they continue their efforts to identify and find the suspect.

They say residents in the area of the incident may observe Troy PD’s Detectives and Evidence Technicians in the neighborhood this weekend as they continue interviews and identify potential evidence.
