WAMC radio names new president, CEO

Public radio station WAMC has a new leader.

The station announced Tuesday that Sarah Gilbert has been named president and CEO.

Gilbert previously worked for both NPR and BBC.

She was most recently Chief Content Officer at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Gilbert replaces longtime CEO Dr. Alan Chartock, who retired in 2023 after more than 40 years leading the station.

Her first official day will be Aug. 19.
