Vermont man charged with driving under the influence
A Vermont man is accused of driving under the influence.
Vermont State Police saw a vehicle on Route 7 in the town of Shaftsbury in Bennington County traveling 72 mph. The driver, Joseph Nerney, 44, of Wilmington, was stopped. Troopers observed signs of alcohol impairment, police said.

Nerney was charged with DUI. He was released on an appearance ticket and due in Bennington County Superior Court on Aug. 12.
